Responsive Website Design

Responsive web design (RWD) is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an
optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning,
and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones)

“Day by day, the number of devices, platforms, and browsers that need to work with your site grows. Responsive web design represents a fundamental shift in how we’ll build websites for the decade to come.”

Responsive web design or more popularly known as RWD can be classified as an example. It is a technique developed by Ethan Marcotte & now is used by the modern day web designers, through which they craft sites to provide the finest viewing experience to the viewer. Keeping the entire user required features in mind such as easy reading of the content and navigation through the website with minimum re-sizing, panning, and scrolling on a variety of devices such as desktop computer monitors, laptops, and tablets to mobile phones.

The concept is really simple actually. The focus of the technique is on User’s needs. Since webs can be viewed on almost all platforms, browsers & devices that have access to the internet, separate designs & screen sizes for your site is out of the question now. The solution to this problem is to develop a flexible & highly adaptable layout that can be viewed on any device or platform of the viewer’s choice. Although this concept is new to the industry, yet it is quickly becoming the next big thing. Web Designers have yet to decide & innovate the methodology to cater the needs of the industry.

I've had the privilege to brain storm with Eddie a few times about increasing conversions online and about Search Engine Optimization. Eddie clearly knows more about SEO than some of the 'big gurus' out there because his strategies actually work. Eddie is also well versed with how small businesses can leverage Social Media to increase their web presence & audience
